El Muelle de Las Galeras debe su nombre a que en \u00e9l fondeaban las galeras reales (barcos movidos a remos por condenados) entre mediados de los siglos XVI y XVII.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La prolongaci\u00f3n de este muelle (ejecutado entre 1873 y 1887) fue dot\u00e1ndose de nueva maquinaria e instalaciones desde comienzos del siglo XX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En los a\u00f1os de inicio del siglo XX esta zona del muelle se utilizaba principalmente para la carga y exportaci\u00f3n de botas y cajas de vino de las bodegas de El Puerto y Jerez. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
